About: I am Nurudeen Rahman. I am a strong research professional with a MSc focused in Parasitology and Bioinformatics from University of Lagos, Akoka. Currently, I work as a Research Assistant at the Public Health and Epidemiology Department of Nigerian Institute of Medical Research. I have over 4 years experience in epidemiological research of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). My research area cuts across the field of medical parasitology, genomics and molecular biology of NTDs. I am also passionate about spatial epidemiology and disease modelling. I have investigated the co-infection of malaria and soil-transmitted helminthiasis and also collaborated in several researches examining the status and distribution of schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiasis among primary school children and pregnant women. My academic contributions have led to several scholarly scientific publications and conference presentations. Going forward, I would love to study the spatial and molecular epidemiology of zoonotic and Neglected Tropical Diseases. Nigeria happens to be one the countries vastly affected in Sub-Saharan Africa for most of this poverty related diseases and carrying out a project to investigate this study is imperative.
